Terpenes

Terpenes are compounds that are usually aromatic and occur naturally in the plant giving each cannabis strain its unique terpene profile.
Although terpenes are not required for regulatory release of cannabis flower and other matrices to the medicinal market, their profiling through analysis adds value as they play an important role in the overall sensory experience in terms of taste and smell. Furthermore, on-going research shows that terpenes possess a variety of therapeutic properties such as aiding in sleep and increasing focus. We employ Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry to test for over 20 different terpenes that are predominant in the cannabis flower.
